Georges Expands Landholding – Opens Georges Auburn

(January 2017)

Georges Wines have expanded their landholding after acquiring the old “Bass Hill Vineyard”, and opening the “Georges Auburn Vineyard” this year, representing an increase of 27 hectares of mature Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvingnon, Mataro & Malbec vines.

The site was selected after an extensive search of the Clare Valley to acquire a plantation that would expand and continue Georges mission to continue producing premium grapes, inline with the strong belief that “Good wines come from good grapes”.

The Auburn Vineyard sits atop a hill at the southern end of the Clare Valley, and along with the Georges Armagh Vineyard atop a hill at the northern end of the Valley, represent the two pillars of the Clare Valley.
